Luxottica Net Drops; The Allstate Net Loss

Luxottica Group SpA first quarter sales fell 6.4% to €1.31 billion and net income fell 22.5% to €80.4 million or €0.18 a share. The Allstate Corporation first quarter revenues fell 2.5% to $7.9 billion and net loss was $274 million or 51 cents a share.

American International Group, Inc, the New York-based insurance giant said first quarter net premium written fell 17.6% to $9.97 billion from $12.1 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $4.35 billion or $1.98 per diluted share compared to net loss of $7.81 billion or $3.09 per share a year ago.
