New orders for manufactured goods in June, up four of the last five months, increased $2.7 billion or 0.6% to $419.5 billion, the U.S. Census Bureau reported today. This followed a 0.5% May decrease. Shipments, down following three consecutive monthly increases, decreased $2.7 billion or 0.6 percent to $414.3 billion. This followed a 0.8% May increase. Unfilled orders, up twenty-five of the last twenty-six months, increased $10.4 billion or 1.4 percent to $736.1 billion. |
