CenturyTel, Inc fourth quarter sales rose 186.2% to $1.84 billion and net income rose 130% to $230.2 million or 77 cents a share. Frontier Oil Corporation fourth quarter revenues fell 19% to $1.09 billion and net loss was $75.1 million or 72 cents a share.

CenturyTel, Inc, the communications company reported fourth quarter sales rose 186.2% to $1.84 billion from $643.0 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 130% to $230.2 million or 77 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $100.1 million or $1.00 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 rose 91% to $4.97 billion from $2.60 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 77% to $647.2 million or $3.23 per diluted share compared to net income of $365.7 million or $3.52 per share a year ago.

CenturyTel, Inc (CTL: chart) in the last one year traded as high as $37.15 in December 2009 and as low as $23.41 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $35.28 the company has market cap of $10.50 billion.

Frontier Oil Corporation, an energy company reported fourth quarter revenues fell 19% to $1.09 billion from $1.35 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $75.1 million or 72 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $119 million or $1.15 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2009 fell 35% to $4.24 billion from $6.50 billion a year ago. Net loss for the year was $83.8 million or 81 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $226.1 million or $2.18 per share a year ago.

Frontier Oil Corporation (FTO: chart) in the last one year traded as high as $18.40 in June 2009 and as low as $11.03 in December 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $12.80 the company has market cap of $1.34 billion.

Parker Drilling Company, a provider of contract drilling services reported fourth quarter revenues fell 17% to $175.8 million from $212.4 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $4.3 million or 4 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $40.2 million or 36 cents per share a year ago.

Total revenues for the fiscal year 2009 fell 9% to $752.9 million from $829.8 million a year ago. Net income for the year fell 59% to $9.3 million or 8 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $22.7 million or 20 cents per share a year ago.

SJW Corp, a provider of water services reported fourth quarter revenues fell 2% to $48.6 million from $49.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 38% to $2.6 million or 14 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $4.2 million or 23 cents per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2009 fell 2% to $216.1 million from $220.3 million a year ago. Net income for the year fell 29.3% to $15.2 million or 81 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $21.5 million or $1.15 per share a year ago.
