Best Buy Co, Inc fourth quarter sales rose 12% to $16.5 billion and net income rose 36.6% to $779 million or $1.82 a share. ConAgra Foods, Inc third quarter sales fell 1% to $3.1 billion and net income rose 19% to $229.6 million or 51 cents a share.

Best Buy Co., Inc (BBY: chart), the retailer of consumer electronics reported fourth quarter sales rose 12% to $16.5 billion from $14.7 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 36.6% to $779 million or $1.82 per diluted share compared to net income of $570 million or $1.35 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the year 2009 rose 10.4% to $49.7 billion from $45.0 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 30% to $1.3 billion or $3.10 per diluted share compared to net income of $1.0 billion or $2.39 per share a year ago.

Best Buy Co, Inc, in the last one year traded as high as $45.55 in December 2009 and as low as $31.25 in July 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $41.18 the company has market cap of $17.21 billion.

ConAgra Foods, Inc (CAG: chart), the packaged foods maker reported third quarter sales fell 1% to $3.1 billion from $3.13 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 19% to $229.6 million or 51 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $193.2 million or 43 cents per share a year ago.

Conn’s Inc (CONN: chart), a specialty retailer of home appliances and consumer electronics reported fourth quarter revenues fell 25% to $202.3 million from $269.6 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 48.4% to $6.5 million or 29 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $12.6 million or 56 cents per share a year ago.

Total revenues for the year 2009 fell 6% to $836.6 million from $890.8 million a year ago. Net income for the year fell 70% to $7.7 million or 34 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $25.7 million or $1.14 per share a year ago.

Conn’s Inc, in the last one year traded as high as $17.67 in April 2009 and as low as $4.42 in February 2010. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $6.77 the company has market cap of $152.30 million.

Fred’s, Inc. (FRED: chart), a discount general merchandise store reported fourth quarter sales rose 1% to $473.1 million from $469.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 148% to $5.7 million or 15 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $2.3 million or 6 cents per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales decreased 0.9%.

Net sales for the year 2009 fell 0.6% to $1.79 billion from $1.80 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 41.6% to $23.5 million or 60 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $16.6 million or 42 cents per share a year ago.

Fred’s, Inc, in the last one year traded as high as $14.85 in June 2009 and as low as $9.01 in February 2010. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $11.35 the company has market cap of $450.24 million.

G-III Apparel Group, Ltd. (GIII: chart), a clothing maker reported fourth quarter sales rose 13.5% to $193.8 million from $170.7 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $9.0 million or 49 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $32.1 million or $1.93 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the year 2009 rose 12.6% to $800.9 million from $711.1 million a year ago. Net income for the year was $31.7 million or $1.83 per diluted share compared to net loss of $14.0 million or 85 cents per share a year ago.

G-III Apparel Group, Ltd, in the last one year traded as high as $23.40 in March 2010 and as low as $4.80 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $23.22 the company has market cap of $391.54 million.

GenCorp Inc. (GY: chart), an aerospace and defense products maker reported first quarter sales rose 9.3% to $186.8 million from $170.9 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $8.9 million or 15 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $19.4 million or 31 cents per share a year ago.

Net income in the quarter rose 161.5% to $28.5 million or 40 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $10.9 million or 16 cents per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales increased 29%.
