BP p.l.c. Sales Up; Emerson Electric Net Drops 7%

BP p.l.c. fourth quarter revenues rose 20.5% to $73.6 billion and net income was $4.3 billion or 22.64 cents a share. Emerson Electric Co first quarter sales fell 8% to $5.01 billion and net income fell 7% to $425 million or 56 cents a share.

American Superconductor Corporation, the energy technologies company reported third quarter revenues rose 95.4% to $80.7 million from $41.3 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $5.2 million or 11 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $7.7 million or 18 cents per share a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 fell 8% to $1.94 billion from $2.11 billion a year ago. Net income for the year was $142.0 million or $1.43 per diluted share compared to net loss of $99.4 million or $1.05 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 fell 24.5% to $10.8 billion from $14.3 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 43.3% to $428 million or $2.16 per diluted share compared to net income of $755 million or $3.84 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 fell 20.6% to $10.4 billion from $13.1 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 0.8% to $1.23 billion or $6.30 per diluted share compared to net income of $1.22 billion or $6.20 per share a year ago.
