American Tower Net Falls 25%; TJX Companies Net Rises

American Tower Corporation fourth quarter revenues rose 9.7% to $448.0 million and net income fell 25% to $64.4 million or 16 cents a share. The TJX Companies, Inc fourth quarter sales rose 10% to $5.94 billion and net income rose 57.6% to $395.0 million or 94 cents a share.

American Tower Corporation, the wireless and broadcast communications infrastructure company reported fourth quarter revenues rose 9.7% to $448.0 million from $408.3 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 25% to $64.4 million or 16 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $85.8 million or 21 cents per share a year ago.

Total revenues for the fiscal year 2009 rose 8.2% to $1.72 billion from $1.59 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 29% to $246.6 million or 61 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $347.2 million or 84 cents per share a year ago.

American Tower Corporation (AMT: chart) in the last one year traded as high as $45.00 in January 2010 and as low as $25.45 in February 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $42.81 the company has market cap of $17.19 billion.

Chico’s FAS, Inc, the specialty retailer reported fourth quarter sales rose 16.7% to $435.7 million from $373.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $17.5 million or 10 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $40.5 million or 23 cents per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales increased 14.6%.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 rose 8.2% to $1.71 billion from $1.58 billion a year ago. Net income for the year was $69.6 million or 39 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $19.2 million or 11 cents per share a year ago.

Chico’s FAS, Inc (CHS: chart) in the last one year traded as high as $15.43 in November 2009 and as low as $3.87 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $13.92 the company has market cap of $2.48 billion.

Daktronics, Inc, an electronic scoreboards supplier reported third quarter sales fell 44% to $72.4 million from $128.7 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $8.4 million or 20 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $4.2 million or 10 cents per share a year ago.

Dollar Tree, Inc, an operator of discount variety stores reported fourth quarter sales rose 12% to $1.56 billion from $1.39 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 28.3% to $135.0 million or $1.52 per diluted share compared to net income of $105.2 million or $1.15 per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales increased 6.6%.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 rose 12.7% to $5.23 billion from $4.64 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 39.7% to $320.5 million or $3.56 per diluted share compared to net income of $229.5 million or $2.53 per share a year ago.

Dollar Tree, Inc (DLTR: chart) in the last one year traded as high as $52.20 in August 2009 and as low as $34.84 in February 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $49.69 the company has market cap of $4.39 billion.

Eaton Vance Corp, an asset manager reported first quarter sales rose 30% to $272.0 million from $209.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 87% to $46.2 million or 37 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $24.7 million or 21 cents per share a year ago.

Net loss in the quarter was $9.4 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $60.3 million or $1.36 per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2009 rose 0.6% to $1.70 billion from $1.69 billion a year ago. Net loss for the year was $55.0 million or $1.87 per diluted share compared to net income of $46.0 million or $1.42 per share a year ago.

Frontier Communications Corporation, a communications company reported fourth quarter revenues fell 5% to $521.0 million from $547.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 87% to $4.4 million or 1 cent per diluted share compared to net income of $34.3 million or 11 cents per share a year ago.
