Aventine Renewable Energy Holdings
The Company’s primary product is ethanol, a fuel grade alcohol which it derives principally from corn, that is sold primarily for blending with gasoline as an octane enhancer and as an oxygenate additive for the purpose of reducing ozone and carbon monoxide vehicle emissions. The demand for ethanol is derived from the overall demand for gasoline as well as the competition of ethanol versus competing oxygenate products (such as MTBE) and technologies.
