American International Group, Inc led the decliners in the S&P 500 index with a loss of 10.1% followed by losses in VeriSign, Inc of 8.0%, in Sunoco, Inc of 5.1%, in Rockwell Automation, Inc of 3.1% and in Gannett Co., Inc of 2.4%.
International Game Technology led gainers in the S&P 500 index with a rise of 8.8% followed by gains in JDS Uniphase Corporation 7.4%, in NVIDIA Corporation of 6.8% and in Lennar Corporation of 6.1%.
