Global Water Resources
The Company treats water to potable standards and also treats, cleans and recycles wastewater for a variety of non-potable uses. The Company water supply is primarily derived from groundwater; however, it currently augments these supplies with recycled water and intends to augment them with surface water and increased use of recycled water in the future. The Company’s utilities presently employ groundwater systems for potable water production.

Safe Bulkers
The Company’s fleet is currently comprised of 11 vessels, of which five are Panamax, three are Kamsarmax and three are Post-Panamax class vessels, with an aggregate carrying capacity of 887,900 dwt and an average age of 2.6 years as of December 31, 2007. Upon delivery of the last of the Company’s eight contracted newbuilds in May 2010, the fleet will be comprised of five Panamax, five Kamsarmax, seven Post-Panamax and two Capesize class vessels, the aggregate carrying capacity of the Company’s 19 vessels will be 1,759,900 dwt, and the average age of the vessels in the fleet will be 3.

Noranda Aluminum Holding
The Company’s upstream business is a vertically integrated producer of primary aluminum, as the business consists of a bauxite mine, an alumina refinery and an aluminum smelter. The process of making aluminum is power intensive and requires a large amount of alumina (aluminum oxide). All of the Company’s primary aluminum production occurs at the smelter in New Madrid, which has production capacity of approximately 570 million pounds of primary aluminum annually.

The Company collects used oil primarily for processing at its two oil re-refineries. The East Chicago facility is the largest used oil re-refinery in North America with an annual capacity of more than 100 million gallons of used oil. The Breslau facility is the largest used oil re-refinery in Canada with an annual capacity of more than 40 million gallons of used oil. Parts cleaning services consist of the placement, maintenance and servicing of parts washers and the associated cleaning fluids at a wide range of automotive, industrial and commercial customer locations.

Primary producers typically find it more cost effective to focus on large volume production and sale of metals in standard sizes and configurations to large volume purchasers.
