| Shares of computer networking company Riverbed Technology made the third best IPO opening of the year, gaining 57% from the offering price the first day of trading. After a difficult year for tech IPOs with ten delayed offerings, shares of DivX and CommVault also gained in openings on Friday, after pricing at the top or above a forecast range. |

| Ethanol and tech companies finally spurred the IPO activity after the quiet summer months and this week alone there are nine U.S. IPOs on deck. Three technology companies, Riverbed Technology, CommVault Systems and DivX, are expected to draw the most attention. A hundred and twenty nine companies have launched IPOs so far in 2006, and 48% of them are currently trading above their offering price. |

Blank check companies increased the number of initial public offerings to 31 so far this year, compared to 29 for the whole year 2005.
