Shares of fashion apparel company Heelys climbed as high as 85% on their first day of trading Friday, after pricing above the expected range. The company offered nealy 24% stake and raised $135 million in the IPO.
Shares of Mexican airport operator OMA were priced above range at $18 and soared on their first day trading on the Nasdaq. Computer memory maker Netlist raised nearly $44 million after pricing at the low end of the expected range. A hundred and ninety seven companies have launched IPOs so far in 2006, and 58% of them are currently trading above their offering price.
