Sanofi-Aventis Sales Up; Siemens Net Rises 12%

Sanofi-Aventis first half sales rose 4.8% to €15.2 billion and net profit rose 8.6% to €4.91 billion or €3.76 a share. Siemens AG third quarter revenues rose 5% to €19.2 billion and net profit rose 12% to €1.41 billion or €1.60 a share.

 
12:40 PM Frankfurt, Germany – Sanofi-Aventis sales rose 4.8% and net profit rose 8.6%. Siemens AG revenue rose 5% and net profit rose 12%.

BASF SE, the chemical company said first half revenues rose 28% to €31.7 billion from €24.7 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half rose 208% to €2.2 billion or €2.41 per diluted share compared to net profit of €718 million or €0.78 per share a year ago.

BASF SE, in the last one year traded as high as €48.83 in April 2010 and as low as €32.55 in August 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €45.80 the company has market cap of €42.02 billion.

Cap Gemini SA, the provider of consulting, technology and outsourcing services said first half revenues fell 4.5% to €4.2 billion from €4.4 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half rose 29.5% to €101 million compared to net profit of €78 million a year ago.

Cap Gemini SA, in the last one year traded as high as €40.30 in April 2010 and as low as €27.80 in July 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €36.40 the company has market cap of €5.49 billion.

Continental AG, an automotive industry supplier said first half revenues rose 40% to €12.7 billion from €9.06 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half was €348.9 million or €1.74 per diluted share compared to net loss of €457.1 million or €2.70 per share a year ago.

Deutsche Lufthansa AG, an aviation company said first half sales rose 23.5% to €12.6 billion from €10.2 billion a year ago. Net loss for the first half was €104 million or €0.23 per diluted share compared to net loss of €178 million or €0.39 per share a year ago.

Legrand SA, an electrical equipment company said first half sales rose 5.4% to €1.91 billion from €1.81 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half rose 79% to €192.6 million compared to net profit of €107.9 million a year ago.

MAN SE, an engineering group said second quarter sales rose 16% to €3.61 billion from €3.11 billion a year ago. Net profit for the quarter rose 595% to €153 million or €1.05 per diluted share compared to net profit of €22 million or €0.15 per share a year ago.

MAN SE, in the last one year traded as high as €76.00 in June 2010 and as low as €45.40 in August 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €71.21 the company has market cap of 10.49 billion.

Sanofi-Aventis, the drugmaker said first half sales rose 4.8% to €15.2 billion from €14.5 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half rose 8.6% to €4.91 billion or €3.76 per diluted share compared to net profit of €4.52 billion or €3.46 per share a year ago.

Sanofi-Aventis, in the last one year traded as high as €58.90 in January 2010 and as low as €44.56 in August 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €45.62 the company has market cap of €59.54 billion.

Scor SE, the reinsurance company said first half gross written premiums rose 0.3% to €3.26 billion from €3.25 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half fell 15% to €156 million compared to net profit of €184 million a year ago.

Siemens AG, an electronics and electrical engineering company said third quarter revenues rose 5% to €19.2 billion from €18.3 billion a year ago. Net profit for the quarter rose 12% to €1.41 billion or €1.60 per diluted share compared to net profit of €1.26 billion or €1.44 per share a year ago.

Siemens AG, in the last one year traded as high as €79.65 in June 2010 and as low as €54.67 in August 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €75.89 the company has market cap of €65.93 billion.

Telefonica S.A., the telecommunications company said first half revenues rose 5.4% to €29.1 billion from €27.6 billion a year ago. Net profit for the quarter rose 10% to €3.78 billion compared to net profit of €3.45 billion a year ago.
