Electricite de France Sales Up 8%; Total Net Rises 27%

Electricite de France SA first half revenues rose 8% to €37.5 billion and net profit fell 47% to €1.66 billion. Total SA first half revenues rose 28% to €78.9 billion and net profit rose 27% to €5.7 billion or €2.55 a share.

Alcatel Lucent, the telecommunications equipment maker said second quarter revenues fell 2.6% to €3.8 billion from €3.9 billion a year ago. Net loss for the quarter was €184 million or €0.08 per diluted share compared to net profit of €14 million or €0.01 per share a year ago.

Alcatel Lucent, in the last one year traded as high as €3.39 in October 2009 and as low as €1.71 in May 2010. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of €2.21 the company has market cap of €4.95 billion.

Bulgari SpA, the producer of luxury products said first half revenues rose 12% to €443.3 million from €396.4 million a year ago. Net loss for the first half was €7.7 million compared to net loss of €40.5 million a year ago.

Renault SA, the manufacturer of automobiles and related services said first half revenues rose 23% to €19.7 billion from €16 billion a year ago. Net profit for the first half was €780 million or €2.95 per diluted share compared to net loss of €2.73 billion or €10.65 per share a year ago.
