| U.S. economy expanded at 3.0% in the first quarter after surging at 5.6% in the fourth. The price index of gross domestic purchases increased 1.4% in the quarter compared to 1.7% in the fourth. Change in private inventories added 1.65% compared to 3.79% in the fourth. |

| Seasonally adjusted new home sales increased 14.8% to 504,000 and above 47.8% from a year ago. The median sale price of new homes sold in the month was $198,400 and average price was $249,500 with five months of inventory. |

| April durable goods orders increased 2.9% or $5.6 billion to $193.9 billion, this follows fourth consecutive monthly rise in last five months and slight fell from March. Orders excluding transportation new orders fell 1.0% and defense rose 3.4%. |
