| U.S. economy expanded at 2.4% in the second quarter after surging at 3.7% in the first. The price index of gross domestic purchases increased 1.3% in the quarter compared to 1.1% in the first. Change in private inventories added 1.05% compared to 2.64% in the first. |

Weekly Jobless Claims Fell 11,000 Jul 29, 8:56 AM ET |

| Seasonally adjusted weekly jobless claims decreased 11,000 to 457,000 from the revised previous week claims of 468,000. The preliminary insured unemployment rate in the week ending July 17 fell to 3.6% from the prior week''s unrevised rate of 3.5%. |

| Seasonally adjusted new home sales in June increased 23.6% to 330,000 but decreased above 16.7% from a year ago. The median sale price of new homes sold in the month was $213,400 and average price was $242,900 with five months of inventory. |
