9:00AM New York - Affymetrix Inc revenue fell 27% and net loss was $318.7 million. Boston Scientific Corporation revenue fell 7% and net loss was $2.43 billion. Cabot Corporation revenue fell 8.3% net income fell 89%.

Affymetrix Inc, genetic data analysis instrument maker said fourth quarter revenues fell 27% to $78.6 million from $107.6 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $318.7 million or $4.65 per diluted share compared to net income of $12.8 million or 17 cents per share a year ago.

Total revenues for the fiscal year 2008 rose 10.5% to $410.2 million from $371.3 million a year ago. Net loss for the year was $307.9 million or $4.49 per diluted share compared to net income of $12.6 million or 17 cents per share a year ago.

Affymetrix Inc (AFFX) in the last one year traded as high as $22.60 in February 2008 and as low as $2.02 in November 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $3.93 the company has market cap of $275.90 million.

Boston Scientific Corporation, the medical device maker said fourth quarter revenues fell 7% to $2.0 billion from $2.15 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $2.43 billion or $1.62 per diluted share compared to net loss of $458 million or 31 cents per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2008 fell 4% to $8.05 billion from $8.35 billion a year ago. Net loss for the year was $2.07 billion or $1.38 per diluted share compared to net loss of $495 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.

Boston Scientific Corporation (BSX) in the last one year traded as high as $14.22 in April 2008 and as low as $0.01 in November 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $8.50 the company has market cap of $12.76 billion.

Cabot Corporation, specialty chemicals maker said first quarter revenues fell 8.3% to $652 million from $711 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 89% to $4 million or 6 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $36 million or 56 cents per share a year ago.

Cabot Corporation (CBT) in the last one year traded as high as $33.72 in May 2008 and as low as $13.42 in December 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $15.60 the company has market cap of $1.02 billion.

Citrix Systems, Inc, infrastructure software maker said fourth quarter sales rose 4% to $415.7 million from $399.6 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 4% to $60.1 million or 33 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $62.8 million or 33 cents per share a year ago.

Sales for the fiscal year 2008 rose 14% to $1.58 billion from $1.39 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 17% to $178.3 million or 96 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $214.5 million or $1.14 per share a year ago.

Citrix Systems, Inc (CTXS) in the last one year traded as high as $37.38 in February 2008 and as low as $19.00 in October 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $24.19 the company has market cap of $4.39 billion.

Covance Inc, the clinical testing company said fourth quarter revenues rose 6.5% to $463.8 million from $435.7 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 10% to $45.7 million or 72 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $50.9 million or 80 cents per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2008 rose 12.5% to $1.8 billion from $1.6 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 11.9% to $196.8 million or $3.08 per diluted share compared to net income of $175.9 million or $2.71 per share a year ago.

Covance Inc (CVD) in the last one year traded as high as $99.08 in August 2008 and as low as $31.43 in November 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $36.88 the company has market cap of $2.33 billion.

Owens-Illinois, Inc, a manufacturer of glass containers said fourth quarter sales fell 13% to $1.71 billion from $1.96 billion a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $229.7 million or $1.39 per diluted share compared to net loss of $24.2 million or 15 cents per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2008 rose 4% to $7.9 billion from $7.6 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 81% to $252.9 million or $1.55 per diluted share compared to net income of $1.32 billion or $8.55 per share a year ago.

Owens-Illinois, Inc (OI) in the last one year traded as high as $60.60 in April 2008 and as low as $15.20 in November 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $22.26 the company has market cap of $3.72 billion.

Pfizer Inc, a research based, global pharmaceutical company said fourth quarter sales fell 4% to $12.3 billion from $12.9 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 90% to $266 million or 4 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $2.72 billion or 40 cents per share a year ago.

Revenues for the fiscal year 2008 fell 0.3% to $48.3 billion from $48.4 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 0.5% to $8.10 billion or $1.20 per diluted share compared to net income of $8.14 billion or $1.17 per share a year ago.
