Murphy Oil Net Rises; Harris Corp Sales Down

3:00AM New York - Murphy Oil Corporation revenue rose 33% and net income rose 150.3%. Harris Corporation revenue fell 8.3% and net income was $139.5 million.

E-Trade Financial Corporation., the finance company said fourth quarter revenues rose 7.6% to $523.4 million from $486.4 million a year ago. Net loss in the quarter was $67.1 million or 4 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $275.6 million or 50 cents per share a year ago.

Total net revenues for the fiscal year 2009 rose 12% to $2.22 billion from $1.93 billion a year ago. Net loss for the year was $1.3 billion or $1.18 per diluted share compared to net loss of $511.8 million or $1.00 per share a year ago.

E-Trade Financial Corporation (ETFC) in the last one year traded as high as $2.90 in April 2009 and as low as $0.59 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $1.65 the company has market cap of $3.08 billion.

Flextronics International Limited., the contract electronics manufacturer said third quarter sales fell 19.5% to $6.56 billion from $8.15 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $92.9 million or 11 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $6.02 billion or $7.43 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2009 fell 16% to $1.11 billion from $1.32 billion a year ago. Net income for the year fell 49% to $56.3 million or 57 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $111.2 million or $1.14 per share a year ago.

Intersil Corporation, the chipmaker said fourth quarter revenues fell rose 35.5% to $177.7 million from $131.1 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $22.4 million or 18 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $1.2 billion or $9.74 per share a year ago.

Net revenues for the fiscal year 2009 fell 20.6% to $611.4 million from $769.7 million a year ago. Net income for the year was $43.3 million or 35 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $1.04 billion or $8.39 per share a year ago.
