Fastenal Company, an industrial and construction supplies wholesaler reported fourth quarter sales increase 5% to $545 million from $519.2 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 11% to $62.5 million or 42 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $56.2 million or 38 cents per share a year ago.
Net sales for the fiscal year 2008 rose 13.5% to $2.34 billion from $2.06 billion a year ago. Net income for the year rose 20.2% to $279.7 million or $1.88 per diluted share compared to net income of $232.6 million or $1.55 per share a year ago.
