9:00AM New York - Hibbett Sports, Inc sales rose 13% and net income rose 55%. Citi Trends, Inc sales rose 16% and net income rose 12%.

AnnTaylor Stores Corporation (ANN), the women's clothing retailer reported fourth quarter sales fell 3% to $469.1 million from $483.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter was $41,000 or break even per diluted share compared to net loss of $375.6 million or $6.66 per share a year ago.

Net sales for the year 2009 fell 16.4% to $1.83 billion from $2.19 billion a year ago. Net loss for the year was $18.2 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $333.9 million or $5.82 per share a year ago.

AnnTaylor Stores Corporation, in the last one year traded as high as $19.50 in March 2010 and as low as $2.75 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $19.45 the company has market cap of $1.14 billion.

Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc (ARNA), a biopharmaceutical company reported fourth quarter revenues were flat at $2.7 million. Net loss in the quarter was $29.7 million or 32 cents per diluted share compared to net loss of $62.5 million or 84 cents per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales increased 1.2%.

Citi Trends, Inc, in the last one year traded as high as $31.77 in January 2010 and as low as $13.31 in March 2009. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of $29.94 the company has market cap of $439.90 million.

Hibbett Sports, Inc (HIBB), a sporting goods retailer reported fourth quarter sales rose 13% to $166.8 million from $147.9 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 55% to $11.8 million or 40 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $7.6 million or 26 cents per share a year ago.

Comparable same-store sales increased 9.6%.

Net sales for the year 2009 rose 5% to $593.5 million from $564.2 million a year ago. Net income for the year rose 10.5% to $32.5 million or $1.12 per diluted share compared to net income of $29.4 million or $1.02 per share a year ago.
