ExlService fourth-quarter profit soared 96% as sales nearly doubled. Telekom Austria AG fourth-quarter net income rose 64% from the year-earlier period on 2.6% higher revenue. SGX Pharmaceuticals narrowed its fourth-quarter loss on higher revenue. Retalix fourth-quarter profit dropped nearly 38% on higher operating expenses, but sales surged.

 
ExlService Holdings Inc. (EXLS: chart), outsourcing services provider, said that its fourth-quarter net income increased to $6 million, or 22 cents per share, compared with $3.2 million, or 14 cents per share, earned in the final three months of 2005. There were nearly 25% more weighted average shares in the latest quarter than a year earlier. The company generated quarterly revenue of $39.3 million, up from the prior year''s $20 million.

SGX Pharmaceuticals Inc. (SGXP: chart) reported a fourth-quarter loss of $4.9 million, or 32 cents per share, narrower than the prior year''s loss of $5.9 million, or $7.61 per share. The biotechnology company focusing on cancer therapeutics, which went public during 2006, increased its revenue to $8.4 million, compared with $6.9 million in the final three months of 2005.

Telekom Austria AG (TKA: chart), provides long distance, and local and wireless telecommunications services, reported fourth-quarter net income rose 64% from the year-earlier period on 2.6% higher revenue. Net reached 63.3 million euros ($83.4 million), or 0.14 euro a share, on 1.2 billion euros of revenue.

Retalix Ltd. (RTLX: chart), software maker for food retailers and distributors, reported fourth-quarter net income fell 38% on 5.7% higher revenue. Earnings were $3.4 million, or 17 cents a share, compared with $5.5 million, or 28 cents, in the year-earlier period. Adjusted net for the period was 27 cents a share against 32 cents. Revenue reached $56.8 million against $53.7 million in the same period a year earlier.

OMV ((OMVKY.PK)), oil and gas group, said that its fourth-quarter net profit rose 25% to 295 million euros from 237 million euros a year earlier as sales grew 13% to 5.16 billion euros. The company said a decline in production and higher exploration expenses were outweighed by income from investment activities and OMV''s stake in Turkish marketing company Petrol Ofisi.

Fuel Tech Inc. (FTEK: chart), which makes air pollution control equipment, said that its fourth-quarter net profit declined to $1.46 million, or 6 cents per share, compared with $2.62 million or 11 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue increased 11% to $18.1 million versus $16.3 million in the same period last year.

Frozen Food Express Industries Inc. (FFEX: chart) shares fell 4.1% perishable goods carrier said that its fourth-quarter net earnings declined to $4.32 million or 24 cents per share, compared with $6.36 million, or 34 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue fell to $113.5 million versus $141.9 million in the same period a year earlier.

ABM Industries Inc. (ABM: chart), which provides facility services including cleaning, engineering and maintenance, said that its first-quarter net earnings increased to $8.7 million, or 18 cents per share, compared with $4 million, or 8 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed 5.5% to $703.5 million versus $666.6 million in the same period a year earlier.

IPG Photonics Corp. (IPGP: chart), which sells fiber lasers, said that its fourth-quarter net earnings increased to $16.6 million, compared with $3.9 million in the year-ago period. Due to a dividend payment related to the company''s initial public offering, IPG reported a per-share loss of 11 cents compared with net earnings of 11 cents in the same quarter last year. Excluding certain items, IPG posted fourth-quarter 2006 adjusted earnings of $6.6 million, or 17 cents per share. Revenue rose 23% to $42.1 million versus $34.1 million in the same period a year earlier.

InfoSonics Corp. (IFON: chart), wireless handset distributor, said that its fourth-quarter net earnings declined to $560,958, or 4 cents per share, compared with $811,179, or 6 cents per share, in the same quarter a year ago. Revenue rose 74.1% to $60.9 million versus $35 million in the same period a year earlier.
