NeuStar Inc. (
NSR: chart), which provides clearing house services such as billing and customer service for telecom carriers, said that its first-quarter net earnings declined to $18 million, or 23 cents per share, compared with $18.3 million, or 24 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Adjusted earnings increased to $22.5 million, or 28 cents per share against $19.9 million, or 26 cents per share, in the first quarter of 2006. Revenue climbed to $97.4 million versus $76.2 million in the same period a year earlier. NeuStar forecasts 2007 earnings of $1.04 to $1.09 per share, or adjusted earnings of $1.30 to $1.35 per share, on revenue of $428 million to $438 million.
DJO Inc. (
DJO: chart), medical device maker, said that its first-quarter net earnings declined $4 million, or 17 cents per share, compared with $5.98 million, or 26 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Excluding certain items, earnings came in at 23 cents per share versus 28 cents per share last year. Revenue climbed to $114.9 million against $82.6 million in the same period a year earlier.
Blue Nile Inc. (
NILE: chart), online jewelry seller, said that its first-quarter net earnings increased to $3.16 million, or 19 cents per share, compared with $2.36 million, or 13 cents per share, in the year-ago period. Revenue increased 34% to $67.9 million versus $50.7 million last year. Blue Nile forecasts second-quarter earnings of 16 cents to 17 cents per share on revenue of $65.5 million to $67.5 million, and 2007 earnings of 86 cents to 91 cents per share on revenue of $295 million to $305 million.
Warnaco Group Inc. (
WRNC: chart), apparel maker, said that its first-quarter earnings increased to $38 million, or 82 cents per share, compared with a year-ago profit of $13.9 million, or 30 cents per share. The company said earnings from continuing operations were $38.1 million, also 82 cents per share, for the quarter. Revenue climbed 20.7% in the first quarter to $547.2 million versus $453.2 million a year ago.
