American Eagle Outfitters, Inc, The teen-age apparel retailer reported first quarter sales increased 5% to $640.3 million from $612.4 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter decreased 40% to $43.9 million or 21 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $78.8 million or 35 cents per share, a year ago. First quarter comparable store sales decreased 6% compared to a 6% increase last year.
American Eagle Outfitters, Inc stock (

CBRL Group, Inc, engaged in the operation and development of the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant and retail concept reported third quarter revenues grew 3.3% to $567 million from $549 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter increased 4.5% to $10.5 million or 46 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $12.3 million or 45 cents per share, a year ago.

Chico’s FAS, Inc, women's apparel retailer reported first quarter revenues decreased 9.6% to $409.6 million from $453.1 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter decreased 73.09% to $12.7 million or 7 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $47.2 million or 27 cents per share, a year ago.
Comparable store sales decreased 17.5% for the thirteen-week period ended May 3, 2008 compared to the thirteen-week period last year ending May 5, 2007. Chico's brand same store sales decreased by approximately 22% and the WH|BM brand's same store sales decreased by approximately 10%.

Daktronics, Inc, a supplier of electronic scoreboards reported fourth quarter sales increased 16.5% to $129.1 million from $110.8 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter increased 38.33% to $5.7 million or 14 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $3.5 million or 9 cents per share, a year ago.
Net sales for the fiscal year ended April 26, 2008 totaled $499.7 million, up over 15% from sales of $433.2 million in 2007. Net income for fiscal 2008 was $26.2 million, a 7% increase from net income of $24.4 million in 2007. Earnings per diluted share, for the year ended April 26, 2008, were $0.63, as compared to $0.59 per diluted share for fiscal 2007.

Dollar Tree, Inc, the nation's largest $1.00 discount variety store chain reported first quarter sales increased 7.8% to $1.051 billion from $975 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter increased 26.3% to $43.6 million or 48 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $38.1 million or 38 cents per share, a year ago. Comparable-store sales for the quarter increased 2.1%.
Dollar Tree, Inc stock (
DLTR: chart) rose $1.20 to $34.98.
Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation, apparel retailer reported fourth quarter revenues increased 20% to $1.24 billion from $1.03 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter increased 47% to $104 million or $1.00 per diluted share compared to net income of $73 million or 68 cents per share, a year ago.
For the fiscal year, net income grew to $420 million or $3.99 per diluted share compared to net income of $401 million or $3.73 per diluted share for fiscal 2007. Net revenues for the year grew 14% to $4.88 billion from $4.30 billion in Fiscal 2007. Excluding the effect of recent acquisitions, net revenues for fiscal 2008 increased by 9%.
