CenturyTel third-quarter profit decreased 16% due to a drop in revenue and restructuring charges. Energizer fourth-quarter profit fell 25% on restructuring charges and foreign pension costs. CenterPoint Energy reported a 40% growth in its third-quarter earnings thanks to the company’s electric transmission, natural gas and pipeline businesses. Morningstar third-quarter profit rose 80%, boosted by recent acquisitions.
