British Sky Broadcasting Group plc, operate a pay television broadcast service in the United Kingdom and Ireland said first-half revenues rose 6% to £2.6 billion from £2.46 billion a year earlier. Net profit in the first-half was £166 million or 9.5 pence per diluted share compared to net loss of £112 million or 6.4 pence per share a year earlier.
British Sky Broadcasting Group plc, in the last one year traded as high as 599.50 pence in February 2008 and as low as 310.50 pence in October 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price of 465.50 pence the company has market cap of £7.99 billion.
Renishaw plc, engineering company said first-half revenues climbed 12% to £102.67 million from £91.64 million a year earlier. Net profit in the first-half slipped 6% to £11.37 million or 15.4 pence per diluted share compared to net profit of £12.05 million or 16.6 pence per share a year earlier.
