9:20AM New York - American Express revenue rose 3% and net income fell 24%. Equifax Inc revenue fell 2% and net income rose 6%.

American Express Company, a charge card and payment processor said third quarter revenues rose 3% to $7.2 billion from $7.0 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 24% to $815 million or 70 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $1.07 billion or 90 cents per share, a year ago.

American Express Company (AXP) in the last one year traded as high as $61.55 in October 2007 and as low as $20.50 in October 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price the company has a market cap of $28.23 billion.

BancorpSouth, Inc, a financial holding company said third quarter revenues rose 2% to $109.6 million from $107.9 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 22% to $28.3 million or 34 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $36.3 million or 44 cents per share, a year ago.

BancorpSouth, Inc (BXS) in the last one year traded as high as $31.90 in September 2008 and as low as $15.15 in July 2008. Based on the yesterday’s closing price the company has a market cap of $2.14 billion.

Equifax Inc, credit reporting agency said third quarter revenues fell 2% to $484.1 million from $492.5 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 6% to $72.3 million or 56 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $67.9 million or 48 cents per share, a year ago.

Macatawa Bank Corporation, a financial holding company said net income in the third quarter fell 24% to $1.87 million or 11 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $2.46 million or 14 cents per share, a year ago.

Nabors Industries Ltd, Bermuda-based oil and gas drilling company said third quarter revenues rose 18% to $1.44 billion from $1.23 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 4% to $210.3 million or 73 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $218 million or 76 cents per share, a year ago.

Netflix, Inc, Online DVD rental Company said third quarter revenues rose 16% to $341.3 million from $294.0 million a year ago. Net income in the quarter rose 31% to $20.4 million or 33 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $15.6 million or 23 cents per share, a year ago.
