American Express Company, a charge card and payment processor said third quarter revenues rose 3% to $7.2 billion from $7.0 billion a year ago. Net income in the quarter fell 24% to $815 million or 70 cents per diluted share compared to net income of $1.07 billion or 90 cents per share, a year ago.
