The firm continued to benefit from its global reach, broad portfolio of products and services, and numerous cost initiatives.
The technology firm reported a 19% rise in revenues to$33.6 billion from $28.3 million in 2007 led by strength in the services segment. Earnings were $2.1 billion or 87 cents a share, down marginally from $2.2 billion or 84 cents a share in the prior year as the firm closed the EDS acquisition.

HP had net income of $2.1 billion, or 80 cents a share, vs. $1.8 billion, or 65 cents a share in the year-ago period.
Revenue was $28.3 billion versus $25.5 billion a year ago. HP said international markets accounted for 70% of total revenue, with revenue from Brazil, Russia, India and China growing 26% over a year earlier. Operating margin, excluding special items, was 10%, up from 9% a year earlier and 9.9% in the first quarter. HP estimates Q3 r revenue from $27.3 billion to $27.4 billion, with earnings per share from 76 cents to 77 cents.

The earnings were $2.13 billion or 80 cents per share, up 38% from $1.55 billion or 55 cents per share in previous year.
The leading technology company reported revenue of $28.5 billion, up 13% over the prior year, with the international operations accounting for 69% of the total revenue. Notebook revenue for the quarter grew 37% over the prior-year period, while desktop revenue grew 15%. Hewlett-Packard paid dividend of 8 cents per share in the first quarter, resulting in cash usage of $206 million. The company expects second quarter GAAP EPS of 77 cents to 78 cents.

The net income grew 28% to $2.16 billion 81 cents a share from $1.69 billion or 60 cents in the prior year quarter.
The leading information technology company reported revenue of $28.29 billion, up 15% from prior year and $1 billion more than the expectations of the analysts. Hewlett-Packard recently closed the acquisition of Opsware, the leading in run-book automation and server and network configuration. During the quarter, the company bought back $2 billion or approximately 42 million shares in the open market. For fiscal 2008, the firm projects EPS of $3.32 to $3.37, on revenue of $111.5 billion.

The net income rose 29% to $1.78 billion or 66 cents per share from $1.38 billion or 48 cents a share in the prior year.
The leading technology company reported 16% growth in revenue to $25.4 billion versus the prior year, on growth across geographies and segments. During the quarter, Hewlett Packard signed definitive agreements to purchase Opsware and Neoware and closed the acquisition of STI Dynamics. The Q3 share repurchases totaled $2.5 billion or roughly 55 million shares. The firm now expects Q4 revenue to be approximately $27 billion to $27.2 billion, a year over year increase of roughly 10% to 11%.
