Campbell Soup Net Declines on Charges |

Campbell Soup Co., food company, said that fiscal fourth-quarter net income dropped to $44 million, or 11 cents a share, from $96 million, or 23 cents, a year ago. Excluding discontinued operations and other special items, earnings would have come in at 23 cents a share. Sales for the latest quarter jumped to $1.45 billion from $1.4 billion a year ago. Volume and mix accounted for 1 percentage point of total sales, while price and sales allowances accounted for 3 percentage points. |
