The yen gained against the dollar as oil prices dropped close to 2% after the terrorist incident in London which drove prices down on lower demand concerns. In Tokyo trading the dollar rose against the yen as high as 112.33 but retreated to 112.05 yen in late trading and ended at 111.62 yen.. The euro fell to $1.1934 from $1.1942. The British pound fell to a 14-month low in early afternoon trading and traded at $1.7410 down from $1.7567.
