Major currencies tumbled against the rallying U.S. dollar after the Fed. Reserve raised interest rates by 3.25% and implied it would keep lifting them ‘at a measured pace’. The greenback rose 1% to hit 8-month highs of $0.6880 against the New Zealand dollar, 9-mnoth highs against the pound trading at $1.7725 and 10-month highs against the euro quoted at $1.1981. |
